Censorship issue

Censorship is quite a painful topic and has always been. For thousands years people have been deciding on a difficult problem to allow or to forbid and decades of the overall freedom and impunity followed  by  the time of pure morality and Puritanism.

Our time seems to be one of the less censored times (at least it seems to be and is thought to be). One of the biggest free areas is the Internet, which for millions of people is quite a synonym to freedom.  People got used to reading everything they want or watching anything they like. They can find really unbiased info, comparing several different news resources.

Of course, people became much more tolerant to nudity as they are literally surrounded by it. The same stands for quite non-conventional relations that the Western society got used to. If a person over the age wants to engage in some dolce activity of porno viewing, why should somebody allow him or her to do it?

The greatest argument which is the arm of every supporter of censorship, is  that children should be protected from porn. And that is exactly what Steve Jobs promised its followers to do. His “Freedom from porn” can be a good slogan for a future politician. Who knows all the crafty plans of Apple’s CEO. If an actor can become a politician, why a company’s CEO can not.

So “Freedom from Port” means from Apple’s point of view the company’s right to censor the content which is channeled  through its gadgets and to erase everything which a special department perceives as immoral, offensive and obscene. And what’s funny Jobs has  managed to find something that appeals to  a great quantity of people who are particularly concerned that their children should be safe from that porn-virus. Most of those people are quite poor parents as they do not have time either to lure their children to some more noble activity or to protect them themselves.

The question that worries many is who watches the watchman?
